ESSEX IS ACCESSIBLE
Essex is just five miles from Burlington International Airport (BTV), only 4 hours from Boston by car, 5 1/2 hours from New York City. There’s an Amtrak rail station right in Essex Junction. Vermont Transit and Megabus are nearby. You can travel to New York State via toll-free bridges by ferry.

ESSEX BY THE NUMBERS
Essex is located within the Burlington-South Burlington metropolitan area, consisting of the three northwestern Vermont counties of Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle and encompassing the cities of Burlington, South Burlington, and Winooski; the towns of Colchester, Essex, and Williston; and the village of Essex Junction. According to the 2012 U.S. Census, the metro area had an estimated population of 213,701, approximately one third of Vermont’s total population.

Essex Junction is a beautiful New England village in the Town of Essex, located between Lake Champlain and Mount Mansfield.
